This means that in the case of a roof of 200 sqm, a metal roof (which is a lightweight option) will add a load of approx. 800 kg. In comparison, a roof with the same surface made of bituminous shingles will weigh around 2 tons, and one of ceramic tiles - over 8 tons. And they are not even the heaviest roofing options: genuine slate is in the top position! Such a weight obviously requires a structure of resistance capable of supporting it.

Accomplished Centennial roofers say that reinforcing the resistance structure is possible, but it will cost you money. However, it can be a good investment, considering that heavy roofing products offer the greatest stability in any type of climate.
